It’s a sign…
Two of my favourite books have “Always” in them as a single line a character says: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Mockingjay. Both said by my favourite male character and both in the last book. Both regarding the girl they love and oh my God I can’t even continue that thought.
I can’t go to District 13. It’s in Panem. You need a hovercraft. Do YOU have a hovercraft, Mellark? I bet you do. You know, not all of us inherited enough grain to run a bakery when our family died. Look at this! Look at this! It’s Bread Boy Mellark! Fake Leg Mellark! Hovercraft Mellark! Traversing all of Panem for cross-country travels to District 13!
Okay I’m sorry but the GIF is all wrong… It’s not even the right part.
I JUST HAD TO SAY IT OKAY

In the beginning Katniss only wanted to save Prim but in the end, she was killed. Peeta wanted to stay himself but he was hijacked. Gale didn’t want to lose Katniss but she ended up with Peeta. They all lost what they wanted most but it makes the book more believable knowing that all endings aren’t happy.
That’s why I love the ending. Lots of people hate it, but I think if it ended any other way it wouldn’t have been staying true to the violence of the rest of the books.
